Wood Shop

The wood shop is located at Northern State Correctional Facility in Newport, Vermont. Here, we provide a pro-social environment where offenders are given the opportunity to work collaboratively with others on projects that enhance both their educational levels and work ethics. The knowledge and skills these offenders gain from working for Vermont Correctional Industries, are an integral part of their preparation process for a successful reintegration back into society. 

 

The wood shop produces desks, bookcases, computer workstations, hutches, tables, storage cabinets, base cabinets, wall cabinets, wood or ColorCore signage, and institutional furniture.  All of our furniture lines are available in the standard birch, oak, or cherry wood. We also offer maple, melamine or laminate options.  You can choose a stain from a variey of color options or just a clear finish that will make the natural wood colors pop. All of our products feature modular construction for design flexibility, ease in shipment and movement.
